US delays tariff impositions on Chinese solar modules

A decision over antidumping penalties against Chinese solar module imports into the US has been delayed by a month.

February 13 was earmarked for a determination of penalties by the US Commerce Department, but according to a Bloomberg report, more time was said to be needed for analysis.

Two investigations are ongoing after SolarWorld filed a complaint in October, 2011 with the US International Trade Commission and the Commerce Department over PV module dumping by Chinese manufacturers. China-based producers have denied the claims.

A decision on potential penalties is therefore expected mid-March, 2012.
