Bangladesh will lease two gas-fired power plants from UK firm, Agbeko.
Bangladesh's Power Development Board has signed a 150MW rental power agreement that includes orders for two gas-fired power plants – an 80MW station in Brahmanbaria and a 70MW unit in Ashuganj, according to The Daily Star.
The three-year contract will serve as a fail-safe measure to ensure maximum power generation in the next irrigation season in February 2011.
The plants are expected to be set up within around four months of signing the contract.
