Japanese electronics giant to market solar panels and fuel cells, among others.
Panasonic Corporation’s India unit, Panasonic India, said it will launch its energy solutions by next year. Panasonic India said the country needs eco-friendly energy solutions such as solar panels and fuel cells.
The company is currently conducting a feasibility study for introducing fuel cells, which are meant to store energy. It will import solar cells from Panasonic plants in Japan or Malaysia.
It expects solar cells to be a big segment for both individual and industrial needs. Panasonic India’s first focus for the Indian market will be the consumer durables segment followed by security solutions.
It will distribute 5,000 LED lights in Bihar, Andhra Pradesh and West Bengal through four NGOs.
