Global Power Synergy, PEA Thailand collab to be energy suppliers 

The MoU covers exploring models where GPSC serves as an electricity supplier for PEA.

The Global Power Synergy Company Limited (GPSC) and Provincial Electricity Authority (PEA) in Thailand to seek opportunities to become energy suppliers. 

The Memorandum of Understanding in particular provided the GPSC and PEA will study and develop an operation model where the former serves as an electricity supplier for the latter. 

The agreement also covers looking into a joint investment between the PEA and GPSC. 

“The MoU between GPSC and PEA is deemed as a very significant collaboration because the two organizations, as energy suppliers in the energy trading projects of PEA's grid power, shall seek ways of power generation that can support the security of electricity system,” Rosaya Teinwan, Executive Vice President - Business Development of GSC, said. 

Teinwan noted the collaboration is also in part a preparation for the electric vehicle industry and clean energy transition of the business sector. 

Panumas Limsuwan, Deputy Governor (Corporate Strategy) of the PEA, said the agency sees that the business sector will particularly benefit from the partnership. 

“As an organization responsible for the direction and development of energy infrastructure, PEA is well prepared to work hand in hand with all sectors in order to promote the ultimate use of resources and the fair access to infrastructure,” Limsuwan said.
