xxGovt forms energy efficiency task force

The government revealed Friday that it had set up a special task force to support the implementation of its

policy in cutting electricity and water usage at government offices across the country.

The Energy and Mineral Resources Ministry’s director general for new, renewable energy and energy conservation,

Kardaya Warnika, said the task force was created to supervise whether government offices conduct the efficiency

program or not.

“The task force will receive reports on power and water consumption at each office and evaluate them. We’ll

give marks for each office based on our evaluation,” he told reporters at the ministry in Jakarta.

He added that the task-force would also have teams that would come to government offices, state-owned

enterprises and regional enterprises to promote the implementation of the efficiency policy.
