Pakistan's power shortfall rises to 7,663 MW
Load-shedding is being implemented in Pakistan after electricity shortfall jumped to 7,663 megawatt.
Pakistan Electric Supply Company is compelled to observe between 14 and 18 hours of load-shedding in urban and rural areas respectively.
According to a report on daily power generation and load-management, power demand surged to 17,706 MW againsttotal generation of 10,053 MW due to severe heat wave in the country during the last 24 hours.
Hydel generation stood at 4,229 MW, WAPDA thermal 1,364 MW and IPPs 4,460 MW, with around 650 MW was supplied to the Karachi Electric Supply Company.
Gas supply has been restored to Orient, Saif, Saphire and Halmore power plants besides the 2,500 Metric tons additional furnace oil to HUBCO to generate maximum electricity.
