Pakistan hydro sector attracts Norwegian investors
Norwegian investors are interested in opportunities in the hydropower sector for Pakistan, said Norwegian Ambassador to Pakistan Cecilie Landsverk.
Landsverk said that utilizing the country’s hydropower potential with the help of international donors could tackle power shortfall on a sustainable basis.
“Pakistan has great potential in generating electricity using the natural force of water,” Landsverk said. “Hydropower is the best way to bridge the gap between electricity generation and consumption, and it will improve the ratio of low-cost electricity in the system to stabilise tariffs,” she added.
The ambassador said her country’s investors were also interested in the gas sector in Pakistan.
