Joint venture formed to raise TVNL generation capacity
Jharkhand government will form a joint venture with NTPC to raise the capacity of power generation from the state’s Tenughat Vidyut Nigam Limited.
Chief minister Arjun Munda requested to finalise modalities for the proposed joint venture at a meeting with NTPC chairman and managing director Arup Roy Choudhury.
It may be mentioned that Munda after assuming office as chief minister on September 11, has been giving much importance on the development of the state’s infrastructure.
In the recent energy review meeting attended by the state chief secretary A K Singh, state electricity board chairman Shiv Basant, and development commissioner S K Choudhury among others, Munda asked them to exert all efforts in increasing power generation from the state’s two thermal power stations – Patratu Thermal Power Station and TVNL.
The state government has decided to give work order on laying new transmission lines and strengthening existing transmission network to Power Grid Corporation to facilitate smooth transfer of power generated from TVNL and PTPS to the grid stations.
