BHEL adds 1,625 MW to Indian grid in 1 day

BHEL has created a new record in capacity addition by adding 1,625 MW  capacity to the National grid in a span of 24 hours.

 

This is in view of four of its projects, namely-- 525 MW unit-II of Maithon Power plant, 500 MW unit-II of KPCL's Bellary power plant, 500 MW unit-II of Durgapur power plant and 100 MW unit-IV of THDC's Koteshwar Hydro plant getting synchronized and achieving full load on March 22, 2012.

The total power project capacity commissioned by BHEL in the current year till March 23, 2012 stands at 7,900 MW.
8Notably, the company has established the capability to deliver 15,000 MW per annum and further enhancement to 20,000 MW per annum is underway.
