Andhra Pradesh dedicates 150 acres of land for energy storage

Solar and wind will be prioritised.

The Indian state of Andhra Pradesh has allocated up to 150 acres (607,000 sqm) of land to the development of energy storage facilities. The state prioritizes renewable energy production (solar and wind) and storage as part of the power sector reforms in motion. The Amaravati city could be developed to be fed by 50% with renewable energy.

The first high energy storage cell has just been inaugurated by Bharat Energy storage technology (BEST) in Andhra Pradesh. The device can be charged and discharged simultaneously reducing chances for outages.
