Uttar Pradesh draws most from India grid
The northern-state of Uttar Pradesh drew the highest amount of energy from the India's grid during FY 2010-11 with a scheduled drawal of 31,598.73 million units of energy.
It was entitlement to draw 32,193.23 MU for the fiscal.
Other states with significant power consumption include Maharashtra, 24,059.70 MU; Andhra Pradesh, 20,320.88 MU; Tamil Nadu, 20,202.91 MU; Delhi, 18,358.85 MU; Madhya Pradesh, 18,763.20 MU; and Gujarat, 16,311.40 MU.
On the other hand, the north-eastern state, Mizoram, drew the least, 300.60 MU. These facts were revealed in the Load Generation Balance Report, released by the Central Electricity Authority for the fiscal year 2011-12.
Apart from the three north-eastern states, namely Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur and Meghalaya, and two western-region states, namely Chhattisgarh and Goa, all other states drew less than their respective share for the fiscal.
