Public hearing notice issued for 3000 MW Dibang hydro plant

NHPC is realizing prgress in obtaining all the necessary clearances for its 3000 MW Dibang hydroelectric project.

The project, being executed by NHPC in Arunachal Pradesh, has been issued notice for conducting public hearing in the month of October at two places in Dibang Valley district by the Arunachal Pradesh State Pollution Control Board.

The public hearing for the project was stalled on account of APSPCB`s inability to grant a date and approve the venue for the hearing. Further, the state government had submitted a revised forest proposal to the Ministry of
Environment and Forests last month. In response to this, the MoEF has asked the the Regional Office at the North Eastern Zone to carry out site inspection of the project area and to submit a report to MoEF.
