Maithon Unit 1 BoP ready by June 2011

Work on the BoP components of Unit 1 of the 1,050 MW Maithon Right Bank Thermal Power Project is likely to be finished by the end of June 2011.

Unit-1 is expected to be commissioned in the early part of this fiscal, four months subsequent to which Unit-2 will attain commercial operation declaration.

The railway siding at the project is to undergo modifications due to the planned Delhi-Kolkata rail corridor. This calls for an addition capital expenditure of Rs 380 crore.
