KPCL seeks domestic gas allocation for power projects
Karnataka Power Corporation Limited has requested for domestic gas allocation for its 2x700 MW gas based power plant near Bangalore and 3x700 MW GBPP in the Tadadi coastal area.
The gas based plants are being set up with a view to diversify the fuel mix for generation of electricity and to facilitate establishment of the Dabhol-Bangalore gas pipeline by Gas Authority of India Limited. Furthermose, these are meant to promote use of clean energy.
Maintaining that feasibility studies for establishment of a gas based plant in the Tadadi coastal area is already underway, the power corporation has asked the PM to provide the necessary allocation.
