JSPL seeks coal linkage for 1320 MW CPP
Jindal Steel and Power Limited has asked Ministry of Coal to provide coal linkage for 1320 MW Captive Power Plant in district Ramgarh in the state of Jharkhand.
Considerable progress has been made and the power plant is expected to materialize in the XIIth plan.
On the other hand, the Amarkonda - Murgadangal Coal Block, which has been allotted to meet the coal requirement for CPP, is not operational due to various reasons.
The area has been subject to disruption caused by Naxalites. In addition to this, the development of mine area has been stalled due to the railway link, which is currently under implementation stage. Thus JSPL has requested MoC for coal linkage till the mine is developed and reaches its peak rated capacity.
The project was conceived in the year 2005 and is now under implementation. JSPL proposes to set up 1320 MW CPP by installing 2 units of 660 MW CPP. It will employ environment friendly technology which will reduce carbon emissions.
