Bidders for Vishnugad HEP hydro-mechanical works await evaluation
The bids received for the EPC contract of civil and hydro-mechanicalworks associated of the 444 MW Vishnugad Pipalkoti hydro-electric project are being evaluated by a panel of technical experts.
Once the clarifications for the bids are obtained, the tender committee can submit its interim report to the World Bank for the no objection certificate.
Furthermore, for the design review consultancy work, THDC has extended the validity of the lowest bidder by over two months, till end of September 2011, after obtaining the no objection certificate from World Bank. Earlier this month, THDC signed an agreement with the World Bank for a loan amounting to US $ 648 million.
This project will be constructed on the Alaknanda river, a major tributary of the Ganga, in the Chamoli district of Uttarakhand. The project has been envisaged as a run-of-river scheme, and would afford an annual energy generation of 1,813.03 GWh, on a 90% machine availability. The project is scheduled to be completed during 2014-15.
