Bangladesh power plants shut to give way to fertilizer plant

Gas rationing for Power Development Board in Chittagong was suspended in order to start operations of a fertilizer factory.

This caused the shut down of the Raozan thermal power plant, Sikalbaha power plant, and Sikalbaha peking power plant in Chittagong.

The allocation of gas ration for the factory was decided by the government in order to put it in full swing and to meet fertilizers deficit across Bangladesh.

Following the gas crisis, the power supply in greater Chittagong will be disrupted.

Newly constructed high rise apartments in city are yet to be handed over to the buyers for want of gas and power.
