Bangladesh PM urges people to stop wasting electricity

Stop wastage of electricity.

This is Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's message to the people,urging them to contribute to development of power sector.

Currently, a total of 6350 megawatt electricity is being generated in the country and 28 more power plant with 5010-MW generation capacity are under construction, the Prime Minister said.

She mentioned that her government has ensured uninterrupted power supply for irrigation and given new electricity connections to more than 25 lakh consumers.

The country's Power Ministry has been observing the National Electricity Week every year on regular basis since 2010.

The National Electricity Week (NEW) is held to create mass awareness for checking misuse of electricity.
