TPREL to develop 255MW hybrid wind, solar project

The project will be installed in Karnataka.

Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited (TPREL) receive a Letter of Award from the joint venture Tata Power and the Government of NCT of Delhi, Tata Power Delhi Distribution Limited, for the development of a 255-megawatt hybrid wind and solar power project in Karnataka.

In a statement, Tata Power said the power from the project will be supplied to the joint venture firm which supplied power to over 7 million population in North Delhi.

The project is expected to start operations within 24 months from the execution date of the power purchase deal.

This will bring the TPREL’s total capacity to 6,048MW, with 3,884MW installed and the remaining 2,164MW in different stages of implementation.
