Tata Power unit to build 150MW solar project in Maharashtra

It is expected to be commissioned within 18 months from the PPA execution date.

Tata Power subsidiary Tata Power Renewable Energy secured a Letter of Award (LoA) from the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Corporation to develop a 150-megawatt (MW) solar project in the state.

In a statement, Tata Power said the LoA for the project located in Solapur was won through tariff-based competitive bidding which was followed by an e-Reverse auction.

The solar project is expected to start operations within 18 months from the execution date of the power purchase agreement.

The subsidiary has a total capacity of 5,786MW, of which 3,877MW were installed and 1,909MW were under various stages of implementation.

Of the installed capacity, 2,949MW were solar and 928MW were wind.
