The project is for Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited.

Tata Power Renewable Energy Ltd. has commissioned a 100-megawatt (MW)/138MW-peak solar project for the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) in Partur, Maharashtra.

In a statement, the wholly-owned subsidiary of Tata Power said the installation comprised over 4,11,900 numbers of monocrystalline photovoltaic modules which are expected to reduce around 234 million tonnes of carbon dioxide annually.

It said that the project was executed by Tata Power Solar Systems Limited, the engineering, procurement and construction arm of Tata Power within three and a half months on 600 acres of land.

“Commissioning of MSEDCL project in such a short timeframe is a testimony to Tata Power's extraordinary project execution capabilities. It would help Maharashtra contribute to India's ambitious renewable energy ambitions by increasing the share of renewable energy in the state's overall energy mix," said Tata Power CEO and Managing Director Praveer Sinha.

The commission of the projects brings Tata Power's renewable capacity in operation to 3,620MW, with 2,688MW of solar and 932MW of Wind. It has 1,300MW of renewable projects under various stages of implementation.
