Tata Power breaks ground for undergound submersible substation in Mumbai

It has a capacity of 400 kilovolt-amperes.

Tata Power held a groundbreaking ceremony for the installation of a 400 kilovolt-ampere (KVA) submersible power substation in South Mumbai.

In a statement, Tata Power said the underground substation will be a “first-of-its-kind” submersible substation installed in the country which will support the power demand load of high-rise infrastructure in adjoining areas.

The company plans to install 10 more submersible substations in its Mumbai licenced area by 2025.

Tata Power serves over 12 million customers in Mumbai, Delhi, Odisha and Ajmer.
