Stanwell takes over 436.5MW Tarong West Wind Farm project
This will supply energy to 230,000 homes.
Stanwell has signed a deal with renewable energy company RES for the acquisition of the 436.5-megawatt Tarong West Wind Farm in the South Burnett.
The Tarong wind project, located south-west of Kingaroy, will feature 97 wind turbines and produce clean energy to power the equivalent of 230,000 homes.
According to RES, the agreement will allow Queenslanders to own 100% of the project and the clean energy it will produce.
The Queensland Government is backing the project with $776.1 million in funding committed to date.
A final investment decision is expected in early 2025.
