
Reliance Power to Build 200MW Wind Plant in India
Reliance Power's parent company, the Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group, will invest INR15bn or $333.2 million in a 200MW wind power plant in Vashpet, in the Indian state of Maharashtra.
The company plans to double the generation capacity in Mahasashtra in the future.
German firm Fuhrlander will provide 80 wind electric generators with a capacity of 2.5MW each for the project, which will be operational by September 2012, reports dnaindia.com.
The company has signed a long-term power purchase agreement with Reliance Infrastructure, which has been approved by the Maharashtra State Electricity Regulatory Commission.
During the first decade of operation, the project will be eligible to get 3.7 million certified emission reductions which will provide INR300bn or $66.6 million revenue for the project.
