Power transmission corridor proposed for Chhattisgar
A high capacity transmission corridor is being pursued to increase the power infrastructure in the state of Chhattisgarh.
The common system will comprise of 765 kV pooling stations, 765 kV D/C transmission lines and an HVDC system. The implementation of this system will be in sync with the commissioning of 14 independent power plants projects that have been granted long term open access, worth a cumulative 18,300 MW.
Furthermore, the Bulk Power Transmission Agreement and regulatory approval has been obtained in order to commence with execution of this scheme. To transmit such a huge quantum of power, the transmission corridor will be divided into 9 sub-schemes, each of which will have transmission elements that are phased out on the basis of progress made by the generation projects. The four planned phases are from May 2013 to November 2013, from March 2014 to May 2014, from December 2014 to May 2015, and from June 2015 to December 2015
