Lanco Infratech seeks $5.6B loan for Indian power projects
India's Lanco Infratech is seeking $5.6bn in loans to fund power generation projects in India over the next 15 months.
The move is in line with the company's plan to increase its power generation capacity to 15,000MW by 2015.
Lanco will invest $1.4bn of its own funds for building the plants to generate an additional 6,000MW over the next five years.
The company said it will consider borrowing from Chinese lenders and the US Export-Import Bank to fund the projects.
