GE inks steam licensing deal with NTC
NTC is now licensed to use GE’s technology for steam turbine designs for industrial applications in China and Southeast Asia.
The technology licensing agreement between GE Energy and NTC or Nanjing Turbine & Electric Machinery Group covers both boiler feed pump and mechanical drive steam turbines for industrial applications, which will be manufactured and sold by NTC throughout the region. This industrial steam turbine technology licensing agreement builds upon GE’s long-standing relationship with NTC, one of the major manufacturers of power generation equipment in China, which has been a GE manufacturing associate since the 1980s.
"NTC, long active in power generation, now is expanding into the industrial sector. The agreement with GE will enable NTC to broaden its technology capabilities and offer customers proven, reliable solutions for industrial applications," said Mr. Shen Qun, president, Nanjing Turbine & Electric Co.
"NTC has been a key player in bringing GE technologies to China," said Trevor Bailey, general manager of GE Energy’s steam turbine business, "Our new industrial steam turbine technology licensing agreement further expands the GE-NTC relationship and demonstrates GE’s continuing commitment to provide reliable industrial power technology needed to support China’s continuing growth and progress."
GE Energy has been active in China for more than 90 years and has provided the country with nearly 340 steam and gas turbines.
