
Areva to construct 2 high voltage substations in India
Areva T&D India will construct two 765kV extra-high-voltage substations worth US$45 million in the Indian states of Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra.
The contract has been awarded by Bhopal Dhule Transmission, a subsidiary of Sterlie Technologies, awarded the contract for the two substations to be built at Bhopal and in Dhule.
All the equipment required for the construction of the substations will be procured from Areva's manufacturing facilities in India.
Sterlite Technologies wholetime director Pravin Agarwal noted that the project has been awarded to Areva T&D India for its expertise and technology edge in delivering products and solutions for 765kV EHV.
