ACEN, Puri Usaha Group form JV for RE projects in Indonesia
The Surgayen platform intends to work on the cross-border project between Indonesia and Singapore.
Philippines’ ACEN and the Puri Usaha Group (PUG) partnered for the joint development of renewable energy projects in Indonesia mainly large-scale solar power plants, battery energy storage systems, and green hydrogen projects.
In a disclosure, ACEN said the proposed joint venture entity is Suryagen Capital Pte. Ltd. which covers the Batam, Bintan and Karimun islands and the East Nusa Tenggara province where the majority of PUG’s projects are located.
The start of the construction of its first project is expected by 2023.
ACEN added that PUG, which was key in the formation of a consortium to participate in the cross-border renewable importation project from Indonesia for the Singapore market is being run by Singapore’s Energy Market Authority.
The cross-border initiative via a subsea cable will be the first project the Surgayen platform intends to develop.
