Work on Quang Trach project to start in July

Ground clearance is being completed in preparation for the construction of Quang Trach thermal power project beginning July, 2011.

This was revealed by Nguyen Huu Hoai, chairman of People’s Committee of Quang Binh province.

Construction on infrastructure system to serve Quang Trach power centre was kicked off in September 11, 2010 by PetroVietnam, the investor, and People’s Committee of central province of Quang Binh.

Quanh Trach power center has been approved in the national electricity development scheme during 2006-2015 and orientation to 2025 including two coal-fuelled thermo power plants with a total capacity of 2,400 MW by the prime minister.

The PetroVietnam-PVN invested project, capitalized at $1.83 billion, is expected to be in operational by 2015.
