Vietnam northern province builds thermal power plant
Built on an area of 63 hectares inside the Nghi Son Economic Zone, Cong Thanh Corporation’s Cong Thanh Thermal Power Plant will be completed in two phases.
The first group of turbines will be up and running in the first quarter of 2014 and the second, by the end of the same year.
It is expected to provide 3.9 billion kWh for the national grid every year.
With a total investment of US$619 million, the plant is aimed to provide electricity for Thanh Hoa’s on-going petrochemical, cement, shipbuilding, and deep-water port projects.
In the ground-breaking ceremony, Cong Thanh also signed a memorandum of long-term partnership in energy, fertilizers and other areas with GE Corps, the technology investor of the thermal power plant.
