NHPC's Uri-II hydro project on track for December commissioning

NHPC has completed dam excavation and concreting for its 240 MW Uri-II hydroelectric project in June with all four unit on track for commissioning by December 2011.

 

Each unit has a capacity of 60 MW. 

The Uri HEP has also made significant progress in overt and invert lining associated with head-race-tunel works. The lining is nearing completion for junction points and D/s Adit-III. In addition to this, TRT excavation and power house concreting was completed during the month.

Trial run of spillway radial gates 1, 2 and 3 was successfully conducted, following which erection of SRG 4 has begun. Erection of trash rack of head regulator gates and HRT intake gates has concluded whereas boxing up of unit 3 is progressing sequentially. Furthermore, the coffer dam was restored and work on critical activities such as radial gates and civil works was restarted in beginning of June.
