Kashiwazaki-Kariwa plant to be tested at full capacity
Satisfactory evaluation results of Kashiwazaki-Kariwa plant while generating power at 75 percent prompted TEPCO to test it while maximising generation.
Generation was re-started on 31 August 2009 and various pre-planned tests at 75 percent generating power were conducted by the Tokyo Electric Power Company at 10:30 a.m. of 6 September. Last 4 September, test results with the plant's generating power running at 50 percent also proved satisfactory.
The Kashiwazaki-Kariwa Nuclear Power Station Unit No.6 had been shut down since the Niigata-Chuetsu-Oki Earthquake occurred on 16 July 2007.
