India dedicates NTPC power plant to the nation

The power plant has a 660 MW capacity.

Union Minister for Power and New & Renewable Energy Shri R. K. Singh announced that the government will dedicate NTPC’s 600-megawatt Barh Supert Thermal Power Project to the nation.

In a statement, the Ministry of Power said that Unit 2 is the project’s first stage.

The Minister also stated that the government has developed the country from a power deficit to a power surplus in the past nine years and the country has been interconnected in one grid running on one frequency.

Also amongst the developments was the implementation of the schemes that are aimed at strengthening the distribution systems.
