ARENA reappoints Darren Miller as CEO for three more years
Miller will serve for a third term, overseeing ARENA’s expanded transition to renewable energy.
The Australian Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA) has extended the term of Darren Miller as CEO for three more years.
Since joining ARENA in 2018, Miller has managed the long-term growth of ARENA, capping his tenure with a renewed and improved commitment to the expansion of renewable energy and net-zero goals by 2050.
Last year, ARENA gained $540m for 60 projects, the largest amount of funding ever committed by the agency. The record-breaking investment underscores the importance of the public and private funding model.

“Darren has led ARENA through an unprecedented period of growth and impact in recent years, with clear strategy and outstanding execution. His reappointment will provide much-needed stability as ARENA helps Australia successfully execute this next vital stage of its energy transition,” Justin Punch, Chair of ARENA, commented about the reappointment of Miller.
The third three-year term of Miller will start on 27 August 2024.
