Thailand's BCPG buys 40% stake in Philippine wind energy firm
BCPG eyes expanding its capacity to 1,000MW by 2020.
In a bid to push its renewable power generation to 1,000MW by 2020, SET-listed BCPG will acquire 40% stake in Philippines' Petro Wind Energy Inc (PWEI).
The share was bought from Singapore-based CapAsia Asean Infrastructure Fund.
PWEI owns a 36MW wind farm and is currently developing a 14MW project in Visayas.
This will be BCPG's first entry into the wind power market after it started trading in SET late September. It currently operates 206MW solar projects in Thailand and Japan.
