Yanshanhu expansion project picks up
The 2×600MW expansion project of Yanshanhu Power Plant is right on schedule for its planned 2011 operations.
The largest energy project ratified by the National Energy Administration in Liaoning Province this year, the foundation stone for the Yanshanshu project was recently held in Chaoyang City.
This is also the first ‘replacing small units with big ones’ project of CPI in Liaoning Province, which symbolized the inauguration of the power company under CPI Northeast Branch with the largest unit capacity and largest total installed capacity.
The new project of Chaoyang Yanshanhu Power Plant is a large thermal power plant that CPI initiated in Chaoyang, Liaoning Province based on the coal resources in Baiyinhua, Inner Mongolia and aimed to expand the coal-electricity market in east Inner Mongolia. The planned installed capacity of the Project is 2×600MW+4×1000MW with 2×600MW domestic supercritical air-cooling condensing turbine units as the first phase with a total investment estimated at US$ 673 million.
The first unit is planned for operation in August 2011 and the second in October 2011.
