Malaysia to open its first 30MW geothermal power plant
Its home will be in Sabah.
Tawau Green Energy Sdn Bhd will be developing Malaysia's first geothermal power plant in Sabah. The proposed site is at Apas Kiri, Tawau. The plant will be exporting 30 MW to the Sabah Electricity Sdn Bhd grid under the existing FiT scheme.
This geothermal power plant has been lauded as its technology is considered "green" and has extremely low carbon footprints. It is also said to have very high availability and reliability rate.
