Nuclear plants for South China Sea not a distant possibility
Maritime nuke power platforms could be a reality soon.
China is slowly making maritime nuclear power platforms a reality that could support projects in the disputed South China Sea. The Global Times, a tabloid run by the ruling Communist Party's official People's Daily, said nuke power platforms could "sail" to far-flung areas and provide ample and stable electricity.
However, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Hua Chunying said she has not heard of the plants yet.
