
Spire wins turnkey module line business with Rahimafrooz
Rahimafrooz Renewable Energy has ordered an advanced module manufacturing line with a capacity of 20MW from Spire Corporation. The modules made at the new facility will be used for rural applications.
“Sixty-five percent of Bangladesh is not connected to the national grid, making electricity scarce and expensive so the solar market is growing,” noted Roger G. Little, Chairman and CEO of Spire Corporation. “Spire is providing Rahimafrooz with an advanced module manufacturing line capable of assembling 20MW per year of solar modules. Spire is also providing Rahimafrooz with PV system design and manufacturing technology which will give them the opportunity to provide modules and systems for rural electricity.”
A Bangladesh firm, Rahimafrooz has installed PV on more than 100,000 homes directly and has supported in providing solar energy in another 600,000 homes in Bangladesh since 2003, according to the company
