Azure Power plans to construct a 10MW solar facility in the state of Meghalaya, India. It has identified West Garo Hills and Ri-Bhoi districts as potential sites for the project.
The US$ 33million project will be financed by the International Finance Corporation.
This first privately-owned solar facility would be built on 15 acres land, to be granted by the Indian Government.
Azure Power Chairman HA Wadhwa said the company has submitted a proposal to the government and would sign a memorandum of understanding and a purchase agreement upon receiving the approval.
