Vandanaa to build $2B Gujarat coal-fired plant
Vandanaa Power signed an MoU to construct a 2,400MW coal-fired power plant in Navalakhi port in Kutch district, Gujarat, India.
The US$2 billion power plant will comprise four units of 600MW each, for which the firm has identified about 2,000 acres of land in Navalakhi.
Vandanaa Power intends to start the plant's first unit by 2014-15, once all the required approvals are received from the government.
The firm will import the coal at the Navalakhi port itself.
