Meili Paper to build 3MW solar station

Meili Paper will build a 3MW solar power station costing US$12.6 million. According to China Business News, the plant will generate annual power of 4.41 gigawatt-hours.

Power generated by the station will be consumed by the company. Half of the total spending will come from a government subsidy. Meili Paper lost US$14.457 million in the first three quarters due to high production costs.

Zhao Yuwen, director of China Photovoltaic Society, said China will have 500MW of newly installed photovoltaic capacity in 2010, up from 300 MW at the end of 2009.
