
Beichen to build Inner Mongolian wind farm
Beichen has closed a US$3 million contract to build a 148.3MW wind farm project in Inner Mongolia.
According to a regulatory announcement to the stock exchange, it will carry out construction works for Hexigten Qi Langcheng Ruifeng Electric Development from 10 August to 31 December this year.
The main construction works to be done by the Hong Kong-listed Galaxy Semi-Conductor subsidiary include wind turbine foundation excavation, the building of transmission and transformation circuit and works in relation to electricity distribution.
The wind farm will occupy 51 square kilometres of land to the north of China.
Accosrding to the staement, the contract offers “a good opportunity for Beichen Power Grid to strengthen its business in the construction of power grid and facilities for wind farm”.
The total installed capacity of wind power in Inner Mongolia is between 7GW and 8GW. Approximately 20% of the electricity in the region is generated from wind energy.
