Drilling completed at Bhutan hydroelectric power project
The total drilling completed at the 600 MW Wangchu hydro-electric project in Bhutan amounts to 750.5 m.
At the dam site, the contractor has completed drilling the first six holes, whereas the remaining 40 m of seventh hole is yet to be drilled.
With respect to power house works, drilling of 255 m out of total of 460 m has been finished. In addition to this, the head race tunnel works have commenced in the dam, with assembly of machine and provision of water supply currently in progress.
Wangchu HEP with the revised installed capacity of 600MW is a run of river scheme on the river Wangchu in Bhutan and will annually generate 2377.30 million units of energy.
