The construction in Seoul, South Korea of a 2,000MW low emissions power plant valued at US$3 billion has been commenced by Korea Sothern Power Company.
The green-power plant will employ carbon capture and storage technology and low-calorie coal to ensure stringent standards on greenhouse-gas emissions.
Toshiba will supply the ultra-supercritical steam turbines for the plant, which has been designed by Kepco Engineering & Construction.
Work is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2015.
