Dan Perera

Dan is a partner in the Energy & Natural Resources Group of Reed Smith LLP. He specializes in disputes and advisory matters within the fields of commodities and international trade (hard rock minerals, metals, energy, oil and gas), mining (exploration, production and regulatory), shipbuilding and offshore (including rig and FPSO-related matters under EPIC contracts). Dan regularly acts for miners, oil and gas companies and commodity traders, and has conducted arbitrations under, amongst others, SIAC, ICC, LCIA, LMAA and GAFTA rules, and ad hoc arbitrations under the UNCITRAL Arbitration Rules. 

Having been based in Singapore since 2010, Dan worked with a market-leading international arbitration practice before spending three years as senior in-house counsel with a mining major from 2012, where he supported the company’s iron ore, coal, copper and uranium marketing businesses and assisted with group-wide projects and disputes. Dan has been actively involved in the development and refinement of a number of industry-standard commodity contracts, and the implementation of market-based pricing mechanisms within developing markets such as iron ore. He regularly advises on multi-commodity marketing standardisation projects.

Dan is a regular speaker at industry conferences relating to commodities and international trade, deep sea mining, and shipping. In 2016 he was recognised by Singapore Business Review as one of Singapore's most influential lawyers aged 40 and under.

Prior to joining Aggreko, Debajit spent nine years working for General Electric in a variety of leadership positions in their energy business.

Dr Ambiyah Abdullah, Zahrah Hanifah Budiman, Suwanto, and Beni Suryadi

Dr Ambiyah Abdullah is currently working as a senior researcher at the Energy Modelling and Policy Planning (MPP) Department at ASEAN Centre for Energy (ACE), Jakarta, Indonesia. Before joining ACE, she worked as carbon pricing economist responsible for the Article 6 assessment projects at Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI), Seoul, South Korea. Her major expertise is macroeconomic modelling applied in environment and climate change issues. She holds PhD degree on environmental economics from Nagoya University, Japan.

Zahrah Hanifah Budiman was a Fossil Fuels, Hydrocarbon, and Minerals (FOM) Intern at the ASEAN Centre for Energy. She graduated in 2023 with a Bachelor's degree from Universitas Padjadjaran, specialised in Geological Engineering.

Suwanto is currently a Senior Research Analyst of the Power, Fossil Fuel, Alternative Energy and Storage (PFS) Department at the ASEAN Centre for Energy (ACE), an intergovernmental organisation within the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN). He is specifically responsible for the Fossil Fuel, Hydrocarbon and Minerals (FOM) Unit. He is an energy enthusiast with a unique background encompassing diverse domains, including non-renewable energy industries, renewable energy, and other low-carbon technologies, extending from profit-driven ventures to non-profit sectors and from business to research activities. He has experience in energy project development in ASEAN in various sectors, including power grid, oil and gas, hydrogen/ammonia, CCS/CCUS, transformative coal, and methane emissions. He holds a master’s degree from the University of Freiburg, Germany, majoring in Sustainable Systems Engineering. Prior to his master’s degree, he served as a Petroleum Engineer at a multinational oil and gas company in Indonesia.

Beni Suryadi is currently the Deputy Executive Director of the ASEAN Centre for Energy (ACE). He is an energy professional with 15 years of experience in managing programs and conducting research on energy and climate change, supporting the governments of 10 countries in Southeast Asia to build climate-friendly energy sector development under the ASEAN Ministers on Energy overview. He is a Non-Resident Fellow at The Energy for Growth in Washington, D.C., United States of America; a Steering Committee member of the Global Consortium on Power System Transformation (G-PST); a Core Member of the Green Grid Initiative Asia-Pacific Working Group; an Advisory Board member of AGENCE FRANÇAISE DE DÉVELOPPEMENT (AFD) Indonesia; and a former member of the Sustainability Advisory Council of PT Aplikasi Karya Anak Bangsa (GO-JEK).

Dr Jong Kyun Park

Dr. Jong Kyun Park has been working for the International Atomic Energy Agency since October 2009 as Director, Division of Nuclear Power. He is in charge of nuclear power related activities of the IAEA including nuclear power engineering and nuclear technology development. He is a member of American Nuclear Society and Korean Nuclear Society.

Dr Weerawat Chantanakome

Dr. Jochen Krauss

Jochen is a Partner at Simon-Kucher and heads the company's operations in Singapore. He has more than ten years of experience in consulting national and international clients in various industries. He specializes in developing market entry strategies and pricing strategies, optimizing pricing-processes and designing innovative price- and product-structures. Jochen’s views are highly sought after by the press and he is often invited to speak on TV news segments to share his insights on recent trends and events.

Prior to his consulting work, he was Managing Director of the Singapore-based German Institute of Science and Technology (GIST), a joint venture research and education centre of the Munich University of Technology (TUM), the National University of Singapore (NUS) and Nanyang Technological University (NTU).

Jochen received a doctorate degree in Business Administration from the Munich University of Technology. He studied Business Administration at the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universitaet in Munich, the School of Information Management and Systems (SIMS) at UC Berkeley and the Rotterdam School of Economics.
