The company’s extensive network goes to up to 1.7 million service connections.

In the realm of providing essential services, water utility company PrimeWater Infrastructure Corporation (PrimeWater) has positioned itself as an exemplar of excellence within the water industry. With an unwavering commitment to quality, sustainability, and customer satisfaction, it has achieved several remarkable milestones that underscore its leadership and innovation in the field.

The company’s impact is felt deeply through its extensive network of 1.7 million service connections. This impressive figure not only reflects the company's growth but also its dedication to ensuring clean and safe water reaches a vast number of households, businesses, and industries across the nation. With 75 branches strategically placed, PrimeWater also demonstrates a localised approach to service delivery.

Its dedication to efficiency also shines through in its remarkable achievement of maintaining a 28% non-revenue water rate, highlighting its advanced infrastructure and its use of innovative leak detection technologies.

“PrimeWater's journey is marked by significant milestones that illustrate its exceptional leadership in the water industry. Through its extensive network, approach, dedication to efficiency, and unwavering commitment to quality, the company sets new benchmarks for excellence,” the company said.

This strong performance has been acknowledged at the Asian Water Awards, with PrimeWater winning the Water Company Excellence Award - Philippines category.

Bridging growth and engineering excellence

Teaming up with the Zamboanga City Water District, PrimeWater embarked on a visionary bulk water supply project that not only caters to the present demands of the city but also lays a robust foundation for its future. It is entering the scene as a solution-driven entity committed to providing sustainable water resources for urban development amidst unprecedented levels of water demand.

Under this partnership, PrimeWater constructed the largest bulk water supply and treatment facility to date, which can produce up to 50,000 cubic metres of water per day.

Situated a few kilometers from the heart of the city, the facility is ideally placed to serve the burgeoning urban center efficiently. The Pamucutan River, the source of water for this facility, is not only in close proximity but also serves as a sustainable and renewable source.

The project showcases innovative technologies, cutting-edge processes, and meticulous attention to detail, resulting in an infrastructure that meets the highest standards of efficiency, reliability, and sustainability. Its layout optimises space utilisation, streamlines water treatment processes, and enhances operational efficiency.

“PrimeWater's bulk water supply project in Zamboanga City is a testament to its commitment to engineering excellence and sustainable urban development. The engineering design of the facility reflects PrimeWater's dedication to innovation, efficiency, and responsible resource management,” the company said.

The company brought home the Outstanding Water Treatment Plant Design Award - Philippines during the prestigious awards programme for this milestone.

Fostering water education at the grassroots

In an era marked by growing environmental concerns and the critical need for sustainable resource management, PrimeWater stands out as a trailblazing advocate for water education and awareness through its initiative Lingap Karunungan.

It represents a paradigm shift in water management by recognising the intricate nexus between water systems, public health, and the environment. Through strategic orientation sessions held in local communities, PrimeWater elucidates these interconnected aspects, empowering communities with the knowledge to make informed decisions about their water resources.

Central to the initiative’s success is its direct engagement with communities, ensuring that education permeates every corner of the community. The personalised approach of face-to-face orientation sessions bridges the gap between intricate concepts and local comprehension.

“In a rapidly evolving world, PrimeWater's Lingap Karunungan initiative emerges as a beacon of hope and change. By imparting knowledge, advocating health and hygiene, and nurturing environmental consciousness, PrimeWater is instrumental in shaping a more enlightened and engaged society,” the company said.

Since 2021, PrimeWater has already reached 1200 communities across the country.

For this initiative, PrimeWater snags the Water Education and Awareness Initiative of the Year - Philippines category. The Asian Water Awards celebrates groundbreaking innovations in water management throughout Asia.
